Legacy Research Group is looking for a superstar Editorial Assistant to join our rapidly growing team.

This is a unique, entry-level opportunity to work with some of the most successful editors in the financial publishing industry.

If you’ve got the drive and the eye for detail to proofread the best of the best – all while helping maintain a high degree of integrity – then we want to hear from you.

Who We Are…

We’re a fast-growing company with all the opportunities of a small startup and the stability of a deep-pocketed firm with a 30-year track record.

We publish more than a dozen advisories covering investing, finance and economics. We have almost a million readers around the world. Our business is providing profitable ideas, explaining how the markets really work, and telling great stories.

We’re completely independent and unbiased. We don’t take money from Wall Street or the government. Our revenue comes from selling subscriptions. One by one. Word by word. We make money only if our readers are happy.

Who You Are…

You’re a…

  • • South Florida resident (only local candidates will be considered)
  • • Meticulous proofreader
  • • Good time-manager
  • • Proactive/independent worker
  • • Diligent researcher
  • • Ambitious, amiable, and unflappable personality

The Job We Need Done

We need someone who’ll dot every “i” and cross every “t”… fix misspellings… and chisel some editorial consistency into all our publications.

You’ve got great attention to detail. You’ll track down information, check facts and quotes, ensure links are accurate, review basic math, and much, much more.

You have the presence of mind to understand that different edits carry different weights. That it’s okay to leave out a missing Oxford comma, when we’re 1 minute from publishing.

On the other hand, you also understand that major misspellings… bad math… and false information are good reasons for halting the presses.

What to Do Now…

If you want to make a living reading, thinking, and writing about finance and investing – and you meet all the criteria listed above – we’d love to hear from you.

To apply, email your resume, cover letter and a list of five differences between AP and Chicago styles to [email protected].

And put “Editorial Assistant” in the subject line. That’s your first test.
