It’s not every day I ask a question like that. But this was no ordinary day.

I was nearly 4,000 feet up in the mountains of northern Colombia. A light breeze swept across the highlands. The air was thick with the sweet smell of pine trees.

Pineapple groves and verdant valleys surrounded me. A detail of eight armed officers guarded me and my team. The three bulletproof Land Cruisers that brought us up the narrow pass stood in stark contrast to the natural beauty.

“One way in; one way out,” the plantation owner told me.

Of course, when you plan to grow $100 million worth of cannabis per year… security matters.

And that’s why I was in Colombia: to tour a pineapple and pine tree plantation the owner is converting to cultivate cannabis. But unlike the illicit cannabis Colombia is famous for growing, this stuff won’t get you high.

You see, a new “green rush” is about to take off. And I’ve been traveling the globe to follow it – including to the Colombian highlands…

The local delicacy there is a glass of whitefish ceviche garnished with fried (not grilled) jumbo ants.

So when my host graciously offered me the dish, I didn’t want to risk offending him by declining. (He’s the largest citrus exporter in the country.)

But it’s a small price to pay to get the inside scoop on what could be the best chance since cryptos for ordinary investors to turn tiny stakes into life-changing gains…

Out of the Shadows

Over the last three months, I’ve walked through cultivation fields… hobnobbed with billionaire financiers… and interviewed the major industry CEOs.

And yes, I’ve even eaten fried ants – all to find the world’s biggest money-making ideas in the legal cannabis space.

If you’ve been following the Daily, you know I think demand for cannabidiol (CBD) will be huge. But let me back up…

You’re probably already familiar with one type of cannabis: marijuana (also known as pot or weed). It contains tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. It’s the psychoactive compound that makes people feel “high.”

Now, the federal government lists marijuana as a Schedule I drug. So it gets the same treatment as heroin, LSD, and ecstasy.

But CBD comes from another type of cannabis – hemp. And unlike THC, CBD doesn’t get you high.

Plus, CBD has the potential to treat numerous health problems and will be a boon to the pharmaceutical industry.

For instance, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved an anti-seizure drug for children with CBD as an active ingredient.

And even the NFL is considering allowing players to use CBD (which it currently prohibits) for pain management instead of opioids.

Until recently, the federal government banned all cannabis products. But President Trump signed a bill last December legalizing hemp and CBD products.

And it’s created a huge tailwind for the industry…

A Disruptive Force

We’re at the very beginning of a global CBD boom. And it’ll be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

Brightfield Group forecasts CBD sales to grow from $591 million this year to $22 billion by 2022. And Merrill Lynch projects the CBD industry to directly disrupt existing businesses worth as much as $2.6 trillion.

That’s why I went to Colombia – 1,097 miles away from home – risking my life in some small way so others can profit from this trend.

In fact, as our four-wheel drive convoy pulled up the mountain trail, I envisioned the acres and acres of sowed fields soon sprouting thousands of hemp plants.

The climate there is perfect for hemp cultivation. And the highland farmers have decades of experience.

They’ll soon make their way up to cut the plants… load them on trucks… and carry them back to town for processing. Then, the factory will ship the CBD oil to customers across the world.

And that’s just the beginning…

In a year from now, virtually every item in your local supermarket will have CBD in it – from cereal and beauty products… to sodas and beers.

Plus, a whole new world of CBD-based drugs – treating everything from anxiety to joint pain to insomnia – will flood the market, too…

This non-psychoactive natural product is helping our veterans overcome debilitating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It’s helping treat children who’ve had dozens – sometimes hundreds – of epileptic seizures each day. Some arthritis sufferers swear by it for pain relief.

And I’ve even personally used it on bad days to help dull my shoulder injury pain…
